Solo begins work on WABTEC MK 3 project.

Solo Rail Solutions has begun the manufacture of components for WABTEC RAIL MK 3. The contract supports WABTEC’s installation of power sliding doors to the fleet running from 2017-2019. Solo’s scope is to include sliding door frames and a variety of interior assemblies.

Rob Pugh Solo’s Commercial Director said “We are delighted to support WABTEC RAIL on this project and believe that our investment in new technology and skills can be mutually beneficial to all parties as we move forward.”

WABTEC’s Doncaster Works, have developed a particular expertise in the life extension, overhaul, maintenance and refurbishment of railway rolling stock. Located on a 22 acre site alongside the East Coast mainline, Doncaster Works has a long and proud history in the construction and maintenance of trains – the works being the birthplace of famous steam locomotives such as the Flying Scotsman and the world steam speed record holder Mallard.
